ARRANBOURNE HISTORY
BEARDED COLLIES
I first became involved with working dogs in obedience in 1969 with a delightful Jack Russell Terrier bought for me by my husband as a pet. After joining the local dog club, I became interested in competition for obedience, and we did very well.
In 1970 I met a Bearded Collie Puppy that stole my heart & they were to be the love of my life for the next 33 years! Although I was still interested in obedience, I became interested in the show ring in 1974. I bred my first litter in 1974 & my Affix of ARRANBOURNE was Registered with the Kennel club when they were born. I was hooked on Showing, Breeding & later Judging Bearded Collies. I have only bred 11 litters of Beardies, & have made up 3 homebred Champions, & a Res. CC Winner to date, many show/obedience/ & recently 2 very successful Agility winners. I was passed by the Kennel club to award CC’s in 1985, & I was honoured to Judge Bearded Collie Bitches at Crufts 2003. I have judged in Germany Holland & Sweden.
PORTUGUESE PODENGOS

I first encountered this very beguiling breed when an article appeared in Dog World in 2002/3 I can’t remember the exact date but that picture of Plushcourt Constancia tugged at my heart & I had to find out more about these little dogs. I met Betty Judge & her troop at Discover Dogs & was absolutely smitten! I saw them again at Crufts, & decided I really wanted a wire bitch puppy. I made a date to go down to Betty’s and look at her wonderful array of dogs, & booked a puppy in due course. Nina (Plushcourt Menina @ Arranbourne) was born on the 27th May 2004, I was so excited I hadn’t purchased a puppy since 1971! As I had always bred my own, so this was a very exciting venture.
Nina has proved to be a delightful member of the family, very successful Show Dog, & a wonderful mother producing a super litter by Port. Champion Barcelos da casa da Torre de Plushcourt. We now have two of her children Arranbourne Adiante ( wire Bitch ) & Arranbourne Amoroso ( Wire Dog ) They are both wonderful family members, that are doing well in the show ring . They are real fun dogs to own with strong characters & happy natures, they make me smile every day!
